·        U12B; 6 teams; 10 or 11 per team; playing 7 + a keeper
·        U12G; 4 teams; 9 per team; playing 6 + a keeper
·        U15; 6 teams; 12 per team; playing 7 + a keeper

    ·        Only a limited number of U19 players registered (12). Provide space on C-field later in the day for small-sided pick-up. Later, maybe move to bigger field if more kids want to join once school starts or if U15 high-school players want to play a second game.
·        In-house rain make-up week will be 11/1/03. Schedule will be slightly revised due to daylight availability.
·        Bob Tramontina to discuss U8 ½-time games at High School matches with AD Bill Dibaldo. Looking for waiver of entrance fee.
·        Concern with injuries from slide tackling at the U10 in-house level was identified (Tom Briggs). This is currently permitted, but it was recognized that closer refereeing of tackling may be needed, especially early in the season, to limit injuries and assure proper/legal techniques are employed.

Travel Status

·        Coaches meeting scheduled for 8/20/03 from 7 to 9 PM in the Community Room
·        Uniforms will be $33 and should be available mid to late August
·        Mark Donoghue was unsuccessful at recruiting enough players for a second U11Bs team. Will continue efforts to get a team for the Spring 2004 travel session. Brooke Martin will call the registered players who are unable to play in the Fall to explain the situation and provide their refund.
·        Discussion of U9G Jaime league alternative (Paul Caracciolo).
         ·        Volunteer practice sessions open to all in-house U9G at Middle School on Sunday nights. All registered players covered by PA West insurance.
·        Scotdale U9G league. Coaches can do this on their own (but players are not covered by PA West insurance) and cannot represent South Park soccer. This is an independent venture from the organization.

Procurement Oficer

    ·        For in-house coaches, if no shirt size is specified a XL will be ordered
·        Travel uniform distribution and payment should be organized separately by each team. Checks should be made payable to SPSA
·        Volunteer (Pete Matisse) will look into fixing the popcorn machine

Web Page

·        Prior e-mail requested information from various board members for inclusion in the website. Reminder that many of these requests are still open.
·        Secretary will investigate options for website provider to host the SPSA web page

Fields & Structures

·        Field set-up scheduled for 8/23/03 (raindate 8/24/03): mark fields, set up goals, trim weeds, clean & repair concession stand
·        20 people requested for each session (AM & PM); in-house assigning 15 per session and travel will provide additional help (1 per team)
·        Field take-down on 11/8/03 (raindate 11/9/03): take-down and stow goals and netting
·        Other on-going efforts:
         ·        Overseeding and lawn treatment at Evans & Middle School fields
·        Top dressing low areas at Evans (at reduced rate)
·        Level and seed: around concession stand, between end of Field A and the wetlands (some top-soil replacement required in certain sections)
    ·        Other possible efforts:
         ·        Regrade parking lot for drainage
·        Address Field A spectator/walkway issues
·        Gate repair and regrading work at the Middle School upper fields
    ·        Ice machine does not work during hot weather; don’t try to use it then. Need better ventilation in the storage area of the concession stand.
·        High School soccer teams have been practicing at the Middles School. Need to avoid conflicts with the in-house practices starting 8/19/03.
·        9th grade boys team still pursuing schedule development. Still plan on using Evans for limited number of games.
