Constitution and
By-Laws
Revision to the constitution and by-laws are proposed. The revisions were read at this time for association review and were given preliminary approval. They will also be read at the February meeting, at which time a vote will be taken for final approval. The major changes are listed below:
In-House
· A U08 coach asked for a U07 player from the fall to be placed on a U06 team for the spring. Parents would prefer this, but would support his play in either age group. The age group commissioner will discuss with the parents and seek a written request for this change.
· Spring registration to date: 4 U05, 2 U06, 3 U08 (1G/2B), 3 U10 (1G/2B), and 2 U12B
· Bob Felix requested support in holding additional U09G practices at the Middle School on Sundays in the spring as an introduction to the upcoming travel season. This would be open to all in-house U09G. This met with general approval of all present.
Travel

Coach & Player Development

· Will also pursue PAWest support of player clinics.
Referee
· A summary of travel referee fees was provided. Relative to the budget projections, $165 less was actually spent.
· Proposed referee training compensation. Specifics in the following areas will be developed:
o Re-certification fees
o Bridge courses (progress from grade 9 (lines-only) to grade 8 (centers also))
o Advanced clinics (grade 7 and above)
o Cal-U referee training
There are currently ~20 certified referees in SPSA and only a few each year attend bridge or advanced courses.
· May also propose increased travel referee fees in the future
· In-house needs more adult referee support; mostly used youth referees in the fall. Above re-imbursement may draw more interest. Scheduling of adult referees for Saturday coverage would also be helpful.
