Those running unopposed were unanimously seated to acquisition. In a vote for the in-house U10 commissioner Bob Felix won.
In-House
· Registrations are low (by 120 from last year). Need the in-house commissioners to push for more registrants. Late fee of $20 will be imposed after 6/30/05. One more in-house registration to be set for the Community Room, tentatively 6/28 or 6/29 based on availability.
· Need important dates for next year’s scheduling
· Concession coverage was poor. Need recommendation on improvements.
· Registration requests for specific coaches, practice nights, etc. will be handled on a case by case basis. U5/U6 requests typically granted, but more scrutiny applied with growing age.
· High School teams are not currently planning on practicing at the Middle School. A practice plan both with and without them will be developed.
· Fall organizational travel meeting will be held on 8/15/05. The in-house coaches’ meeting will be 8/22/05.
· In-house commissioners need to plan Saturday field coverage better. Maybe incorporate into game schedules.
Travel
· Player evaluations went well. The commissioners thought the results were accurate. It took a lot of effort and planning to accomplish. High School girls’ team was essential to the success. Suggested that SPSA buy something to thank them. Girl’s travel commissioner to develop proposal. May look into in-house coaches running next year’s evaluations.
· Hard for concession parents to see when U10 games are on the lower field. Need to stagger assignment times like we do for upper field teams,
· Request by parent (Darryl DiGorio) and coach (Vicki Smith) to have Kristen DiGorio play on Boy’s team next year. Darryl would be an assistant coach. Subject will be discussed at subsequent board meeting.
Coach & Player
Development
· E-license re-imbursement, 7 out of 12 so far. Just bring copy of license to Pat Carter.
· In Fall, no Y-license is planned (most already have taken one). May pursue clinics with SP coaches learning “how to run a practice” by age group. The Pitt coaching class was said to be good.
· Commissioner to develop budget (~$500) for professional training. May order Coerver videos for the SP library.
Speak Out
· Registration for the fall comes at the same time as Edinboro costs. This places financial burden on families. Discussion of alternatives did not reveal any specific fixes.
· Tom DePres for St Joan requested use of Evans fields for Friday night games for a JV and a varsity team. Four home games for each team. Games would start at 6 PM. We would have to check with SP High School JV schedule for conflicts. Topic will be discussed at subsequent board meeting.
· SPSA pinnies used for player evaluations are no longer needed. They will be loaned to coaches on an as needed basis.
· U8 half-time games at the High School. U8 in-house commissioner to coordinate. Will seek free passes for the parents of participating children.
